Nothing Denied
They say he murdered his wife . . . Entering her seventh unsuccessful season, Beatrice Albright is beginning to realize that her beauty cannot compensate for her shrewish ways. A desperate woman whom no one wants, she must seek a man whom no one else will marry: the despised and mysterious Marquis of Highcroft, Gareth Berenger. Rumor has it he is a killer, but Beatrice is far more terrified of spinsterhood-and the company of her mother-than she is of Berenger's dark reputation. But Gareth, while intrigued by the alluring hellion's proposal, has a proposition of his own. A man of particular tastes, he will wed no woman unwilling to satisfy them. His bride must be adventurous, afraid of nothing, and eager to experience any passion and pleasure he can devise, no matter how shocking and taboo. If Beatrice agrees to a trial affair-if she can happily shed all her inhibitions-in the end they will be wed. And so the die is cast-as Beatrice and Gareth embark on an erotic path where danger awaits them at every turn, en route to a world of exquisite ecstasy where there is nothing forbidden...nothing denied.

Fabulous, funny and really enticing story of a lady who was named "the Shrew of the Ton" and a man who supposedly killed his wife. She wanted to get marry to leave her overbearing and rather nutty mother, and he needed the wife to fulfill his late grandmother's wish...
I did enjoyed the book, and was surprised to find some great deep remarks on both sisters' mather-doughter relationships and how they affected heroine's views and behaviour. Well, though some ideas could have hardly entered a Regency person's mind (and I'm not speaking of the kinky part)... still, it's one of the best books I've read recently. Enjoy!

Nice Finish to Albright Sisters 02/08/2010

This is a good ending to a great series. If you've read Jess Michaels' other Albright Sisters books (Everything Forbidden, Something Reckless) you'll have an idea of what to expect. The electricity between Beatrice and Gareth is great. At times there's a bit too much self-psychoanalysis going on, but the characters are well fleshed out. Michaels attempts to make Beatrice more sympathetic by immediately explaining away her insecurities following her spiteful behavior, which is a bit jarring, but this is really minor in an otherwise solid story.
