Jordan was dead.
At least she would be when Anita Roemer got her hands on her. Her so-called best friend had contacted her in major panic mode this morning, with a request no one in their right mind would have agreed to.
?Meet my appointment for me and tell him I can't make it,' Jordan had said. ?I've tried calling, but there's no answer. He's prepaid and I can't just leave him hanging.'
Meet her appointment, Anita thought now with a snort, easier said than done considering Jordan worked as a professional dominatrix. Not to mention this particular appointment was nowhere near to Jordan's office, but in a tiny cabin nestled so deeply in the Picanti Mountains no one would've guessed it even existed.
And as far as being in her right mind, clearly Anita wasn't, since at this very moment she stood knocking on the hardwood door of that particular secluded cabin.
