Reader Review: The first book in this duology, The Hedgewitch Queen, was told from Vianne's perspective, so it was surprising to discover that The Bandit King was told from Tristan's. This worked well, however. Tristan made many questionable decisions, almost becoming an unlikable character. However, his perspective revealed his motives, which made him a much more sympathetic character. The story was heartwrenching in many places, and kept me reading eagerly to see how Vianne and Tristan's relationship would be resolved. Overall, it was an excellent book, and left me wanting more!
