Reader Review: Mackenzies Magic was pleasant though shorter than Linda's other novels and never developed the same depth or intensity, nor the same level of character development in its heroine. A little too lightweight!

The final chapter of Linda Howard's beloved Mackenzie family saga! Meet Maris Mackenzie -- and the sexy stranger she woke up to find in her bed! Unfortunately, she had no memory of Alex MacNeil, the previous day...or the prize Thoroughbred she'd apparently stolen...

This is the last book in the Mackenzie series and although the family doesn't come back together until the end, it was a good read. Although it was not as good as the others and no way a favorite, it was average. Read it only if you've read the other ones and want to complete the series, other than that it's not really worth it.

Maris' Story

May 27, 2011
Reviewer:

This is Maris Mackenzie's story. She is working as a horse trainer for a prestigious owner in Kentucky and wakes up one morning to find herself in bed with a man she doesn't know. Maris finds herself in the middle of an investigation involving insurance fraud but realizes she's met the man she's going to marry.

While Maris' journey to the altar is a short one, what's engaging about the story is when she and Alex MacNeil return to Ruth, Wyoming to meet the MacKenzie clan. It's an opportunity to check in on the other members of the family and watch Alex face the wrath of five brothers who question his motives.

It is an entertaining story and any excuse to revisit MacKenzie Mountain makes it worthwhile.

Too short

Reviewer: A reader from PORT MOODY, BC, BC CAN

Compared to all the other Mackenzie books this one is a little lacking. The intensity between Maris and alex is there but to fall that deeply in love and decide to get married and meet the famil, in 3 whole days no less is a little profound. I would have found the story more believable if it was at least a couple weeks like the other mackenzie books. No shortage of entertainment just not long enough for me.
