Reader Review: Kevin Kowalski first meets Beth Hansen when she shows up at his bar one evening with her boss. He causes her to get fired when he has her boss arrested for drunk and disorderliness. When she happens to be working his brother's wedding shortly after, they end up spending an unforgettable night together, one that will tie them together for years to come when she winds up pregnant. After this story, I can easily understand why everyone loves Kevin and know do, too. His reaction to Beth's news was mature and responsible, better than hers. I really could understand her reluctance in jumping into a relationship with him until she could sort out his feelings; is he wanting her or the opportunity to have a family. But, since she never seemed to work as hard at figuring this out as she did stonewalling him, Beth just got on my nerves. Kevin's rope was a lot longer than mine. Despite Beth's silliness, I still liked her and what she stood for. I also loved the secondary storyline involving Paulie, Kevin's very talented waitress, and Sam Logan, a man from her past. The Kowalski clan's closeness and good humor helped to make this a very enjoyable story and explain why Kevin hung in there for so long with a woman like Beth. And, you gotta love a man with dimples.

Can a one-night stand turn into happily ever after?

Bar owner Kevin Kowalski is used to women throwing their phone numbers at him. Even if lately he's been more interested in finding Mrs. Right than Miss Right Now. Enter Beth Hansen.

Kevin and Beth may have started out all wrong, with an impromptu passionate encounter at a wedding, followed by a walk of shame. Yet Kevin knows there's more to their relationship than a one-night stand. Especially when Beth turns up pregnant.

Kevin may be ready for the "next step," but Beth doesn't want a relationship with a former playboy, however irresistible he might be. And it's going to take a lot to convince her to go on a second date with the father of her child….

Undeniably Yours by Shannon Stacey

The bar owner, Kevin had tossed out a guy when he protested for being cut off from another drink.

Beth, the woman he was with was very angry as she had lost her job as the guys secretary. She looked for more work and got a temp bar keeper job. Kevin's brother just happened to be getting married and she was the bar tender. After the wedding reception he waited for her and talked her into a dance although there was no music. She went up to his room and in the morning she was going to go get breakfast for him and was looking for the room key card when he said 'make sure you lock the door after you leave."

She had nothing else to do but leave and swear to never see him again.

She did meet with him, and informed him she was carrying his baby.

His parents and he moved her into one of the other empty apartments over the bar and he took care of her banking.

His assistant was having her own problems, Her secret that she is from money has almost come out when her almost to be husband from a few years ago shows up. She's got a trust fund but really enjoys the simple bar life.

wow wicked-traditional New England slang, love it! and the all day eat a thon for thanksgiving and other holidays with the WHOLE family. what a treat!

I am thinking what a great series this family would make, each having their own book with the whole family thing going on. Surprise on me, this is just one of the books in a series, wahooo

As time gets nearer she doesn't want to have to rely on him for anything but she's learning to let him do things for her and the baby. Baby shower wow this is what I would've expected mine to be like if I had had one.

What a tragedy when the bus hits the cab that Beth is in. Don't want to spoil it for others but this is a really good read!

Meh. What's he see in her?

I wanted to like this book, as I had very much enjoyed _Exclusively Yours_ and looked forward to reading about the rest of the Kowalskis, but...I just couldn't like Beth.

She was so full of distrust and poor judgment, and so inexplicably dismissive of Kevin and his family's attempts to draw her in. I didn't feel like the backstory that was supposed to explain her reserve was convincing, and I just couldn't see why Kevin kept bothering to try. Also, the side story with Paulie--her fear of being found out by her current friends, the push/pull with her ex-fiancé--didn't make much sense to me, either.

I do think Shannon Stacey is a good writer, and there are many aspects of the book that I enjoyed. But with two main female characters whose motivations seemed seriously implausible to me, I just can't recommend it except to the completist (like me) who intends to read the whole series.
