Sliding the door open, I stepped out onto the deck. The night air, still too warm but starting to get cool, greeted me as I stepped out. The slight breeze felt cool brushing against my bare skin, tickling the hairs on my legs. The fine hairs on my upper torso stood up. The wooden deck felt solid beneath my bare feet. Not too far away was the sound of the ocean. I felt better already. I slid the door shut. And stopped on a dime. I heard a female voice. I realized there was someone in the pool already.
