Reader Review: This is a well written BDSM novel,set in a alternate America where women can be sold into slavery for debt. The author creates a particularly memorable character in the luscious 18-year old virgin Elenora. I found the scenes where her new owner cruelly uses this beautiful innocent as hot as any I've ever read in BDSM literature. Overall, the quality of the writing is well above the usual run of smut. Be warned though: this is for lovers of BDSM novels, not romance. If you dislike whipping and other mild torture mixed with sex, you should not buy this book. Highly recommended.
Elenora was young, innocent, and beautiful. Olivia was a leading socialite, wife of an apparently successful businessman, and determined to be at the very top of County society. Instead, both young women are arrested and are to be sold at the local slave auction. Elenora will undoubtedly fetch a very high price, but Olivia’s attitude makes it clear that she is unlikely to adapt to her new role willingly. Quentin Scales, the best slave agent in the County, was certain that his sadistic employer would want both of them, even if he had to pay the highest price ever seen at auction in order to acquire Elenora. Imagine a world where debt could mean enslavement, where a debtor, or the innocent wife or daughter of a debtor, could be sentenced to lifetime servitude for no crime other than being associated with someone who owed money he would never be able to pay. And it was not just servitude. A slave had no rights whatsoever. She could be used, abused, mistreated, punished or assaulted in any way her owner desired, and no one would care. There were laws to safeguard the welfare of animals, but none to protect the slaves. As the auctioneer announced, they were “legal for all purposes”.
